Iona is a Scottish artist born in 1973.

She trained in Fine art Printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee Scotland receiving a 1st Class Honours Degree (A Band 1).

Iona then continued to School for New Dance Development SNDO in Netherlands, instead of doing a Masters Degree at Slade college of Art London.

The next 25 years have been predominantly spent performing, touring all over Europe and beyond living based in Brussels, Gent, Stockholm, Amsterdam and Helsinki.

Iona currently lives between Brussels and Glasgow. She performs and teaches internationally.

Her works have been shown in 21 countries and hundreds of theatres and International festivals of Contemporary Dance, Circus, Performance Art and Theatre. 

Iona is trained in competition gymnastics and tennis and has won many medals and awards. 

From 2003 - 2005 she studied at Cirkuspiloterna, renamed DOCH Dans och Cirkushogskolan - University of Stockholm.

Iona is currently a dancer with WIM VANDEKEYBUS / ULTIMA VEZ 'Infamous Offspring' on tour.

She previously worked with WIM VANDEKEYBUS / ULTIMA VEZ in 'Scratching the Inner Fields' and with

ALAIN PLATEL / LES BALLETS C DE LA B in 'VSPRS' Belgium.

She continues to have close ties with these companies and fellow dancers.

Established by Iona Kewney in 2009 with musician Joseph Quimby.

Together they have performed for over 10 years from San Francisco to Lapland to Mexico City to Prague and much of Europe in between.
